The State council of science and technology and environment (SCSTE) in partnering with Bio-Resource Development Centre is implementing the Skill Vigyan Program which is sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India for the benefit of young graduates in the state of Meghalaya. The objective of the Skill Vigyan Program is to impart hands on training using tools and technique in advance and emerging areas of life sciences and biotechnology and developing entrepreneurial skills to 10+2 and graduates ready to take up jobs as well as to established start-ups, incubators on their own in their respective areas. The skill courses under this category had been designed in consultation with experts of Sector Skill Councils and approved by Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSME) with Life Sciences Sector Skill Development Council (LSSSDC), the modules are aligned and related with agricultural topics hence Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI) was contacted. Under Skill Vigyan Program, two training program have been conducted at BRDC:
(A) Student Training Program
(B) Entrepreneurship Development Program is on Exotic fruits cultivation.
