To sensitize the people of the State on the importance of organic certification and the system available in the country and also to introduce the Centre as the organic certifying agency of the State as well as an authorized Regional Council of PGS-India, the Centre had conducted various awareness programs in various districts of the State. These are done in collaboration with partnering institutions viz., Department of Agriculture through the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVKs), Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Meghalaya State Rural Livelihoods Society (MSRLS), NGOs and other relevant stakeholders etc.
In the year 2021, the Centre was able to cover 6 districts and 8 villages covering about 252 farmers and with the travel restrictions due to Covid-19 pandemic some of the awareness programs was also conducted through virtual mode.
In the year 2022 the Centre had covered 6 districts and 14 villages covering about 427 farmers. Currently, the Centre had conducted awareness programs in 3 districts and 9 villages covering about 242 farmers. So far, the Centre had conducted 39 awareness programs and will continue to conduct many more in the expedition to reach out to maximum number of farmers and the entire farming communities and relevant stakeholders in the State.
